Steve Ray is the founder of Idea Media & Public Relations, headquartered in Corpus Christi, TX. He works closely with CEOs, government officials, corporations and nonprofits as well as with entrepreneurs seeking to get their message to targeted audiences across the country.

As a deputy executive director for the Texas Department of Economic Development during the George W. Bush administration, Steve helped develop the brand strategy for the state’s economic development efforts and represented the agency as its primary spokesman in both the public and legislative arenas.

An expert at helping shape public opinion, Steve worked in Texas media for over 25 years, finishing his career as Capitol Bureau Chief for Scripps Newspapers where his political column was well known across the state. He has maintained those close connections to media outlets across the Southwest working on various public relations projects, media placements and marketing projects.

He has extensive experience in political issues, twice being named among the top political consultants in Texas by Capitol Inside newsletter and as the third fastest rising lobby star by the newsletter in 2016.  During this career, he has done public relations projects for such groups as the Texas Association of Business, the Texas Conservative Coalition, the Texas Rural Caucus, the Rio Grande Partnership and the Texas Certified Development Company.

Steve is a graduate of Southern Nazarene University, is the father of five children, and grandfather to eight of the most perfect kids in the world.
